Tinker was born out of two loves.
The love of my kids; and the desire to create an imaginative, curiosity-provoking space for them, and all babies and toddlers, to enjoy.
And my love of wanting a place to go to drink a warm coffee and soak up some relaxing café vibes. (Yep, with the kids in tow.)
Being a primary school teacher for over 12 years I missed setting up play opportunities for children to explore which provoked some curiosity and wonder.
I wanted to create a place that allowed children to get lost in their own world of play. That offered them the space to play without having to share (we all know that battle). A cosy place to take your new little bundle of joy that offers sensory experiences and the chance to catch up with other parents.

Once bambino number 2 came along and I was suddenly juggling a baby and a toddler, I found it got a bit trickier to find places where both the girls were able play in the same space, without me having to run around after them as they moved out of view.
I’ve designed Tinker to be as open plan as possible enabling adults to see as much of the play space as they can from anywhere in the room.
It’s not to say that you don’t want to be involved in your child’s play experience, but it hopefully will also allow you the chance to sit down with a warm drink, relax, and observe the wonder and delight of your little one exploring in their own little world too.
Also doubles up beautifully as a place for a play date, without you having to tidy the house.
Always a win in my eyes!
Hope to see you soon,
Abbie x

You'll probably never see him, but Ian is the reason Tinker exists! Everything that possibly could be constructed was done so by Ian's fair hands.
Not normally one to be gushy but I couldn't be more proud of him! Thanks so much for being the world's best business cheerleader, construction man of the year and my rock!
Love, Abbie x
